I was driving down the road to photograph an old barn, when I saw a deer bedded down in the snow. I stopped and backed my car up, got out and took three photos before it ran away.
The old barn. I took a lot of photos, but only liked a few of them.
Thought this pond was beautiful with the snow and reflection.
Taking wildlife photos is challenging. I think that is why I like it so much because I have to make the most of each opportunity to get a photo that is any good. It's not like I can ask the deer to stand still while I get the perfect photo...it's all about being in the right place at the right time and being prepared.
Here are a few photos I like.
Three drakes in this photo, but the back two look like decoys.
Wild ones. They didn't stay around long.
I like this photo because of the light on the doe in the back. I love how she stands out.
A few photos from a recent adventure. I am looking forward to getting out again soon and taking more. Hopefully my subjects will continue to cooperate! Every photo I take makes me want to take more, I just have to find the time to get out in the field.
Isn't he beautiful?
I love this little one. Wish I would have had the photo more focused.
